GIB® Rondo Metal Batten 310

The 310 batten system consists of a steel batten with a depth of 35mm and thus matches the thickness of a timber ribbon plate. The 310 batten is therefore very compatible with standard timber frame designs and comes in lengths of 3600mm, 4800mm, and 6000mm.

310 Batten

The 310 batten can be direct fixed using nails or screws through the flanges or installed using clips. See the GIB® Site Guide for full installation details.

Clip Fixings

Clips provide an independant substrate that removes some structural movement being transferred to the GIB® plasterboard liing and thus further reduces the risk of ceiling joints cracking or fixings popping. The clips also allow a perfectly flat and level ceiling to be set out regardless of uneven joist/trusses.

The clips create a cavity (measured from the bottom of truss/joist to bottom of batten) and the standard 311 clip creates a 35mm to 75mm cavity; the 313 clip can create a cavity between 35mm to 175 mm.

Perimeter Fixings

There are several different perimeter fixing configurations, eg using a channel (340) or wall angle (NZ18), notching into a ribbon plate, using a double top plate or ribbon plate.

Creating an independent perimeter by using a double top plate instead of a ribbon plate eliminates irregularities being transferred from the floor through to the ceiling edge. An independent perimeter can ensure the ceiling is perfectly flat and level.

312 Joiner

The joiner (312) connection eliminates wastage and is simple to use.
