GIB Aqualine®

GIB Aqualine® is an internal lining material designed for use in wet or humid areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries and toilets.

It has a modified core which contains a wax emulsion which resists water vapour. When fixed in accordance with our specification instructions it is an excellent substrate for adhesive fixed ceramic tiles in shower cubicles and shower over bath situations. It is ideal for the application of paint and wallpaper finishes outside of those areas subject to direct water pressure.

GIB Aqualine® is the main component in GIB Dry Zone®, but can form part of a 30 or 60 minute fire rated system as well as part of a GIB Quiet Zone®.

GIB Aqualine® -  special water resistant core

WATER ABSORPTION TEST: These photographs show what happens when GIB Aqualine® (green surface paper) and GIB® Standard plasterboard (white surface paper) are soaked in coloured water for two hours. The core of the standard plasterboard has absorbed the water, while the core of GIB Aqualine® is relatively unaffected.

After two hours immersion the GIB® has not wicked up the coloured water.

Both boards are split showing the coloured water has not wicked up the core of GIB®
