Architects Regatta 2009

The annual GIB^® Architects Regatta was held on Monday 16th February with 56 yachts battling for line honours. The sun may have hidden away for the day but that did not stop the famous water balloon wars from raging. Although a bit quietened down at times, the wind held its own for most of the race, ensuring everyone enjoyed a good sail.

The overall winner of the Racing Spinnaker Division and recipients of the GIB^® cup was Peter Hollenstein Associates on Demonstrator with Ignite on Men at Work 3 taking away the Architectural Marketing Trophy for the Cruising Non-Spinnaker Division.

The prize-giving was held at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron with Chris Hume of Hume Architects as the MC and David Thomas presenting the prizes. This was followed by a buffet dinner, providing everyone with an opportunity for a catch up with fellow architects and friends.

Overall, a fantastic day. Bring on 2010!
