About the role
This is a key role in our Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Training (HSQET) function. You will be responsible for the coordination of HSQET activities at Winstone Wallboards, to ensure the business is meeting compliance requirements and business as usual activities are maintained. We are after an energetic and persuasive professional, able to lead active engagement in 'safety always' and champion safety compliance primarily on our Auckland site.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager this role will work in conjunction with operation leaders developing, implementing and operating best practice safety systems to meet customer needs and business objectives. You will also be required to manage training requirements and needs including records, renewing certificates and booking courses. You will need to manage training supplier relationships and costs.
This role will be varied and bus and will have you involved in all aspects of Health and Safety. conducting machine audits and recommendations, cause analysis, leading hazard management and ensuring a proactive approach are key ares for this role which will require skills in mentoring, advising, engaging and leading. A strong interface at all levels within the site to gain active implementation of agreed plans and systems will be required along with monitoring local and international trends to ensure compliance and keeping people safe.
You will need a health and safety related qualification or an interest in health and safety. Experience of working in a similar working environment will be largely advantageous.
