Meet Winstone Wallboards 2026 Auckland Summer Interns

We’re excited to celebrate the fantastic contributions of our Auckland summer interns, who brought fresh thinking, energy, and genuine enthusiasm to Winstone Wallboards. Each intern jumped into their work with curiosity and commitment, and it’s been great to see several of them continue with us in ongoing roles. Here’s a look at what they worked on - plus a fun fact about each of them.

Henry Wilson – Engineering Intern

Henry Wilson our WWB 2026 summer intern

Fun fact: Henry plays basketball - equally comfortable analysing technical drawings as he is sinking a three‑pointer.

Henry spent his summer reviewing and validating the technical drawings on the Winstone Wallboards website, ensuring accuracy and alignment with our standards. He really enjoyed collaborating with the technical team and getting hands‑on insights into how our products are designed, tested, and continually improved. He shared that one of the highlights of his internship was how welcoming and supportive everyone was - and we’ve really appreciated the energy he brought to the team.

Matthew Strong

Industry Event Lead, Sales Support Intern → Now Supporting Our Team in a Maternity Leave Contract

Fun fact: Matthew once appeared on the TV show 7 Days as a kid - clearly destined for customer‑facing work!

Matthew’s internship gave him exposure right across Sales and Marketing, with one of his standout contributions being his support for the Crusade With Heart Long Run in Christchurch. He helped promote the event, build community engagement, and lift visibility to support fundraising efforts.

Alongside that, he attended sponsored events, met customers, and learned to confidently use a range of sales and marketing tools.

Matthew made such a strong impression that he has since moved into a maternity leave cover position with the team, where he continues to build on his internship experience - deepening his skills in customer engagement, event coordination, and commercial support. A great success story of an intern growing into an ongoing role at Winstone Wallboards.

Nicholas (Nic) Keenan

Nic Keenan Our WWB 2026 Summer Intern

Supply Chain & Health and Safety Intern → Now Working in Finance at Winstone Wallboards

Fun fact: Nic bought his first car with money he earned playing Counter‑Strike - turning gaming into ROI!

During his internship, Nic worked across Supply Chain and Health & Safety, supporting several foundational projects that helped prepare the business for our ERP upgrade. He cleaned and structured inventory data, ensured documentation met ISO requirements, and assisted internal auditors by developing clear templates and guidance.

Nic has since transitioned into a Finance role at Winstone Wallboards, where he continues to apply his strengths in data quality, process improvement, and structured communication. A highlight of his internship was visiting Tauranga and seeing the full plasterboard manufacturing process - something that helped build his understanding of the wider business and our operations.
