Tauriko Facility

Our new manufacturing and distribution centre based in the Tauriko Business Park in Tauranga is rapidly taking shape and is on track to be producing GIB® plasterboard from mid-2023.

The state-of-the-art premises have been designed around future capacity and our green-thinking philosophy to ensure the new-build can help the business meet it sustainability goals, including a commitment to a reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.

The purpose-built facility will include exciting innovations like the ability to recycle gypsum into new plasterboard, energy efficient dryer, and wastewater recycling ensuring zero process trade waste is created onsite.

Once completed, the 12.8 hectare Tauriko development will be home to one of the largest plasterboard manufacturing facilities in Australasia. With 63,000sqm of buildings (that’s more than seven rugby fields!), the site will provide 50% more manufacturing capacity than Winstone Wallboards’ existing Auckland plant, with scope for further expansion.
