GIB® Site Guide Update – GIB® Plasterboard Alternatives Table

One of the most common inquiries we have to the Technical Helpline is regarding the substitution of one GIB® Plasterboard for another. A handy quick reference chart is available covering this. The table is also available on page 14 of the GIB® Site Guide.
This table has been recently updated following some additional testing which compares the performance of 13mm or thicker GIB Fyreline® to 10mm GIB Braceline® GIB Noiseline® when used in a GIB Ezybrace® BL type bracing element.
The updated table now permits the following in GIB Ezybrace® elements:

10mm GIB Braceline® GIB Noiseline® substituted for 13mm (or thicker) GIB Fyreline® provided the fastener spacing pattern is as per GIB Ezybrace® System specifications and the fastener type and length are as per the specified GIB® Fire Rated system.

10mm GIB Braceline® GIB Noiseline® substituted for 10mm GIB Aqualine® provided the bracing element is 900mm or greater and has a maximum fastener spacing of 100mm to the perimeter of the element, with the corner fastening pattern to apply.
