Why Upgrade to 13mm GIB® Plasterboard?
Stronger, More Stable Substrate
GIB® Rondo® metal ceiling battens don’t absorb moisture, helping prevent movement that leads to cracking, popping and peaking-issues more common with timber battens.
Proven Batten Spacing That Performs
- Use 600mm centres with 13mm GIB® for a cost‑effective, high‑quality ceiling.
- If using 10mm GIB® plasterboard, batten spacing must reduce to 450mm centres.
These spacing requirements align with AS/NZS 2589:2017 and industry best practice.
Better Quality at a Similar Cost
Using 13mm GIB® plasterboard with 600mm batten centres reduces the number of battens required. Savings in labour and materials typically offset the slightly higher board cost, delivering a high-quality result at a similar overall price.
